In the center of Junglinster, the Meglio establishment is unavoidable. The smell of the artisanal bakery already tickles our nostrils, even though we are only a few meters away from the shop.
Once inside the bakery, it is another thing altogether: the friendliness of the shop assistants. The polite words are legion and the service is generous.
A little further on, behind the counter, Antonio Henriques watches and organises with a benevolent eye. This bakery is his baby, and he holds it as dear as his own flesh and blood. “I worked in the restaurant business for several years before starting up. I know this business by heart. Having my own project is something that was close to my heart, and that I had in mind for several years already. I opened the bakery and the restaurant last July. It’s the achievement of a lifetime,” says this enthusiast.
The entrepreneur also has experience in the supermarket sector. His previous professional experiences have left their mark on his daily work. “I was the manager of a supermarket and I was in charge of the bakery part in particular. I am a lover of good products and a fervent defender of a job well done. I put a lot of emphasis on local products. That’s why I decided to work with JOS & Jean-Marie, renowned bakers whose know-how is indisputable,” continues Antonio.
The Meglio establishment is located in the Rue de la Gare in Junglinster. The building is modern and the decor is pleasant. The choice of location was not left to chance: “It was a matter of course for me to open my own business here in Junglister. I came to Luxembourg in 1993 and since then I have become attached to this region and its people. I know many people and I know what my customers like. It was important for me to bring a bit of their Luxembourgish gastronomic culture to them, right next door.
